Load capacity depends on both the rack and your vehicle. Every vehicle has a manufacturer-set roof load limit (dynamic while driving, and often a higher static limit while parked). The safe working limit is whichever is lower -the rack rating or the vehicle rating -minus the weight of the rack itself. We'll calculate this with you before you buy.

Dynamic load is the maximum weight your roof can carry while the vehicle is moving -this is the number that matters for luggage, kayaks, boxes and everyday gear. Static load is the higher weight the roof can carry when the vehicle is parked, which matters when using a rooftop tent with people sleeping on the roof.
